Letter from the President
Since 2007, MARKON, Inc. has focused on building a business that is mature, always expanding, exciting, and professional for both clients and employees. Starting with just a few professionals focused on delivering great project management services within one market, we have transformed into a respected management consulting company, providing a range of “Professional Services and Personal Solutions” across 6 major federal markets.
Like many successful businesses, outstanding people make the difference at MARKON. There are many opportunities at MARKON to contribute to our success, and each employee has the chance to make a difference. The number one skill we invest in, develop, and reward, is leadership. A strong leader, regardless of their position in the company, can solve an internal problem or meet a requirement presented by one of our clients. By taking on new responsibilities within a challenging client environment, leading internal business process improvement projects, or engaging in formal leadership development programs our employees can continuously develop themselves as leaders and professionals.
Our fundamental business model has remained consistent since MARKON was formed. Some of the key attributes to our model include:
- Expand our delivered core competencies slowly, but expand into new markets quickly. We want to stick to what we are good at and deliver those services to many different federal markets. Our portfolio currently includes six major federal agencies with the goal of twelve within three years covering the Intelligence Community, DoD and Civilian Agencies.
- Invest in the development of our employees.
- Share the excitement and rewards of success with everyone. Making progress as a company is exciting and we openly share success stories both large and small. Bonuses and other rewards are provided to those individuals contributing to our business goals and making us a better company.
- MARKON is a goal oriented company. Each year, corporate business goals are set and communicated to the team. Each employee also creates personal goals for individual development, and contribution to overall corporate goals.
- We have a long term perspective. We make decisions that make us more competitive in the future even if we need to give up something now.
Today, I am personally as excited about the future of MARKON as I was on our first day in business. We continually look for high quality people to add to the MARKON family, who want to share in our excitement and desire for delivering excellent services to our clients.
