Pamela Crockett and Angela Landry attended the 10th Annual Women in Construction Conference held on October 15th at the DC Renaissance Hotel for a full day of interactive learning, mingling, and fun through platform panel sessions, presentations, and keynote speakers.
Women of all career levels offered insight and advice about women in the construction workforce, from leading to supportive roles.
Topics included the history of the conference, case studies and managers of current construction projects in the area, women in leadership, women in the workplace, ACE Mentorship Program, trending construction software (Marigold and SharePoint), branding and perception, first impression impact, and the importance of owning your deadline.
The construction industry is among the top sectors driving the U.S. economy. Of all current construction positions, only 8-9% are women. It is essential that we expose and recruit more women for construction and facilities roles.
