Markon's Spring 2020 Awards: Innovation and Scholarship Winners

Celebrating good news is more important than ever during these challenging times. As such, we're pleased to share the winners of our 2020 Markon Innovation Award and John W. Stoneburner Scholarship Fund.

Usually, these are awarded during Markon's Spring all hands meeting. However, since we can't gather in person to celebrate at this time, please join us in congratulating our winners virtually.

    Innovation Award

This is a chance for Markon's contract teams or individuals to showcase key Markon-led improvements, methods, systems, or innovations they've implemented over the previous 12 months – which aligns with Markon’s 2020 strategic plan.

    Nomination Criteria

    Innovation Award submissions must:

    • Be created by a Markon employee or team
    • Demonstrate that it fills a void, meets a need, and/or creates a solution for an issue. This must detail how the current process or system has been improved.
    • Have occurred between Spring All-Hands 2019 and Spring All-Hands 2020.
    • Apply to a broader audience beyond its current one.
    • Have metrics that demonstrate a positive impact on contract and/or corporate brand, revenue, and profit

    John W. Stoneburner Scholarship Award

Markon's John W. Stoneburner Educational Scholarship Fund is a competitive scholarship program for dependent children of Markon employees, which was established in 2017 to honor John and his commitment to our company and the industry.

John is a consummate professional who shows true passion, commitment, and consideration of others in all he does. He embodies the Markon values:

    • Take Initiative
    • Lead with Humility
    • Corporate Integrity Before Personal Gain
    • Respect for Clients, Partners, and Markon Employees.

Eligible dependent children must be taking or planning to take post-high school training and/or educational courses offered by an institution or organization recognized for its quality of learning programs and integrity. The employee must have been employed full-time for at least one year by the time the scholarship applications are received.
