Red Team Instructor

Noel Stephens is an Air Force Veteran with over 10 years in Cyber Security, ranging from ICS to Electronic Warfare to Offensive Operations. His most recent role was as an operator for the top DoD Red Team. During that time he also worked weekends as a SOC Analyst for the IRS to bolster his understanding of all aspects of the Cyber domain. Now, Noel Stephens works as a Threat Emulation SME and instructor for k>fivefour while also developing new courses and techniques.

Matt Hasty

k>fivefour Principal Instructor

Matt Hasty is a US Navy veteran and Principal Instructor at k>fivefour, bringing over a 13+ years of cybersecurity and Red Team operations experience to every session he leads. He holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, along with certifications including RTAC, RTJC, OSCP, and GXPN. Across roles as a Senior Penetration Tester, Red Team Engineer, and Advanced Cybersecurity Engineer, Matt sharpened his skills in vulnerability research, risk assessment, and automation. His ability to translate complex tradecraft into practical, mission-ready skills is what sets his instruction apart and makes a direct impact on every student he trains.

Shelby Kaba

VP of Marketing & Communications

With over two decades of cybersecurity experience, Shelby Kaba brings a unique perspective shaped by both offensive and defensive operations. Beginning his career with the Kansas Air National Guard and the Air Force Red Team in 2004, he served as a technical lead and tool developer supporting national defense missions. After years of Red Team and adversarial emulation work, he transitioned in 2021 to lead Blue Team operations as Director of Special Operations for an MSSP, overseeing incident response, threat intelligence, and threat hunting teams. Now with Millennium Corporation’s BOT team, he integrates Red and Blue team disciplines to strengthen cyber defense through adversarial insight.

David Kirk

Red Team Instructor

David Kirk is a curriculum developer at k>fivefour, where he creates and evaluates technical training material across the Security Operations pipeline. He has built a strong command of Security Operations and continues to broaden his offensive skill set through the k>fivefour catalog and independent study. His credentials include RTAC and RTJC certifications earned through hands-on work with k>fivefour, along with Associate of (ISC)² status secured by passing the CISSP exam, a broad credential spanning the full security domain that grounds his eye for content quality and technical accuracy. As a developer behind the Cyber Operator Introductory Course, he brings a sharp, deeply technical perspective to modern education in Security Operations and Ethical Hacking.
