Common questions about k>fivefour training, ranges, certificates, and how to get your team started.

    Training

    About the Courses

How k>fivefour training is built, delivered, and assessed.

Who builds and teaches the courses?

Active operators. Our instructors work on Red Teams, Blue Teams, build tools, and run assessments, so training reflects real missions rather than a generic curriculum.

    How are courses assessed?

Every certificate requires a live, hands-on practical exam. Readiness is measured by what a learner demonstrates they can do.

    What courses are available?

k>fivefour delivers courses across four tracks.

Red Team: Red Team Apprentice Course (RTAC), Red Team Journeyman Course (RTJC), Red Team Leadership Course (RTLC).

Blue Team: Blue Team Apprentice Course (BTAC).

Introductory: Cyber Operator Introductory Course (COIC).

Specialization: Nix Exploitation (NIX), Cyber Ops Forensics (COF).

Each course page carries that course's purpose, scope, intended learning outcomes, the requisites to earn its certificate, fees, and participation requirements. RTAC and RTJC are certificate programs for which k>fivefour is pursuing ANAB accreditation.

    Are courses accredited?

Curriculum is mapped to the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework, and we are pursuing ANAB accreditation and 8140 alignment. Contact us to discuss your DCWF role requirements.

    Do you offer online training?

Yes. Alongside instructor-led courses, the Battlegrounds range and on-demand scenarios provide asynchronous, browser-based training available around the clock.

Does any commercial organization sponsor or influence k>fivefour training?

No. No commercial entity provides financial support to the certificate programs, and no commercial entity influences course content, assessment design, scoring, or the award of a certificate.

k>fivefour licenses commercial tooling used during instruction, including Cobalt Strike under license from Fortra. That license governs how the tool may be used and who may access it. It confers no role in course content or assessment outcomes.

    Enrollment & Delivery

    Getting Started

    Pricing, seats, delivery, and support.

What's included in a course price?

Instruction, all coursework, labs, the certificate exam, one exam retake, and range access for the duration of the course plus a set window afterward.

Can you train my whole team?

Yes. We deliver at individual, cohort, and enterprise scale, in person or virtually. Reach out for group pricing and delivery options.

Do you deliver on site or overseas?

We deliver CONUS and OCONUS. Hosted and deployable ranges can remove the housing and sustainment burden of standing up training in country.

    How do I request pricing?

Use the enterprise pricing inquiry form or contact our team, and we will scope pricing for your seats, tracks, and delivery needs.

Where do I go for support?

Visit the Help and Support page to open a support case, or contact us directly for account and enrollment questions.

What are the fees, and what happens if I cancel?

Course fees are published on each course page and on the k54 learning platform listing.

Substitution: a different learner may take the seat at no cost at any time before the course start date.

Cancellation 30 or more days before the course start date: the seat is released and a training credit is issued for the full fee, valid for 12 months from the released course start date.

Cancellation fewer than 30 days before the course start date: the fee is retained.

k>fivefour issues training credits rather than cash refunds. A cash refund requires approval by the Designated Administration Authority.

Retakes: a learner who has completed the course and attempted the summative assessment at least once may retake the assessment for a flat fee published with the course fee. Apprentice level $300, journeyman level $600, specialization level $600.

Send a verification request to support@kfivefour.com with the holder's full name and, where available, the operator number printed on the certificate.

k>fivefour confirms whether the named person holds a current certificate for the course in question, the date of issue, and the expiry date. No other learner information is released. A holder may also ask k>fivefour to confirm their own record directly.

Do k>fivefour courses carry continuing education or academic credit?

k>fivefour courses do not carry academic credit, and no academic institution or credit-approving body awards or endorses credit for them.

k>fivefour does issue a continuing professional education letter recording the course completed, the completion date, and the credit hours delivered based on live instruction time. Acceptance of those hours toward any continuing education requirement is at the discretion of the receiving body. k>fivefour makes no representation that any body will accept them.

    Support & Policies

    Learner Support and Policies

Complaints, appeals, accommodations, and how course changes are communicated.

How do I submit a complaint?

A complaint may be submitted by a learner who attended a course, whether or not they passed, and by an employer or sponsoring organization.

Submit through any of: support@kfivefour.com, the help widget in the k>fivefour learning platform, or the k>fivefour office contact details on this site. A complaint may be submitted anonymously.

k>fivefour acknowledges receipt within 5 business days and issues a decision within 20 business days.

A complaint is first reviewed by the Principal Instructor. If it remains unresolved, it escalates to the Technical Director, and then to the Designated Administration Authority, whose decision concludes the internal procedure. Every response names the next escalation point and how to reach it.

ANAB accepts complaints about an accredited program at https://anab.ansi.org/feedback/complaint-form/ and expects the program's own procedure to have been used first.

How do I submit an appeal?

An appeal may be submitted against a summative assessment result, or against the invalidation or withdrawal of an issued certificate. No other decision is appealable. Refusal to issue a certificate, and denial of admission following screening, are not subject to appeal.

An appeal must state its grounds from the list published in the appeals procedure. Submit through the same channels as a complaint. k>fivefour acknowledges receipt within 5 business days and issues a decision within 20 business days.

An appeal is first reviewed by the Principal Instructor, who assigns the review to another qualified instructor where he produced the score under appeal or delivered the cohort. It escalates to the Technical Director and then to the Designated Administration Authority. The available outcomes are to uphold the original result, or to order a re-score by another qualified instructor.

Where an assessment was affected by a range fault or another condition outside the examinee's control, the remedy is a reassessment at no cost, with no retake fee, no waiting period, and no effect on the learner's permitted retake.

How do I request an accommodation?

Request an accommodation at enrollment, or at any time afterward, through the channels listed for complaints.

A request should be supported by a statement of the functional limitation the accommodation addresses. A diagnosis is not required and should not be submitted. The Principal Instructor decides each request.

Available adjustments include scheduled breaks taken in a separate room. Assistive technology can be supported but must be requested at enrollment, because it requires a change to the lab and exam environment. Additional time on the summative assessment is not available, because the time allowed is a condition of the assessment itself.

How will I know if a course changes?

k>fivefour publishes changes to a course's purpose, scope, intended learning outcomes, or the requisites to earn its certificate on that course's page, together with the date the change takes effect.

Learners enrolled in a scheduled delivery are notified by email at the address on their enrollment record.

A change takes effect on the published effective date and does not alter the requirements for a learner who has already completed the course. Certificates issued before an effective date remain valid under the terms in force when they were issued.
