How is this different from a typical LMS?

Most LMS platforms deliver content and link out to labs somewhere else. Battlegrounds was built for cyber training from the ground up, so courses, live range environments, and readiness tracking all live in one place.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Battlegrounds runs in the browser with isolated, per-user environments. You reach it from a standard browser with no special software.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Battlegrounds can run on Hydra or on your own infrastructure in fully disconnected environments, with no connection back to k>fivefour.

How realistic are the environments?

Environments are built on full Active Directory forests and realistic enterprise infrastructure, not simplified CTF boxes, and operators can bring their own tools.

Is it available all the time?

Yes. Battlegrounds is available around the clock so training continues between courses and scheduled exercises.

Can I take k>fivefour courses on demand?

Yes. Select k>fivefour courses are available on demand in Battlegrounds, with lessons and labs you can work through at your own pace. Other courses continue to be delivered instructor-led.

Can my team train together?

Team mode lets multiple users share an environment for collaborative exercises, mirroring how real teams operate.

How do managers track readiness?

Org Managers assign courses, labs, and JQRs to their people and see qualification status for each individual and for the team as a whole, mapped to work roles.

Does it align to DoD workforce frameworks?

Yes. JQRs and readiness tracking are aligned to DCWF work roles to support DoD 8140 workforce qualification. Formal 8140 approval is not in place at launch, and we are actively pursuing ANAB accreditation for DoD 8140.

Do students earn a certificate?

Yes. Completing a structured learning path earns a k>fivefour certificate.
